My name is Andrew, but I also go by Abl! I was born and raised in San Diego, California for the first part of my life – until I was about 10 years old. Then my family moved to good ol’ North Carolina! I have spent the majority of my life in these two states, but I have also lived in Florida, France, New Hampshire, and of course, now New York 🙂

Outside of pups, I have had the privilege of making music my passion and my life. I have dedicated the last six years (since Covid) to creating electronic music tracks and collaborating with creatives around the world. New York City is a major hub for music and creative people, so I have made it my new home — it’s my time to participate! In my free time, I make beautiful, abnormal sounds on my synthesizer and beautiful, normal sounds on the piano :). Outside of pups and pianos, I also enjoy being outside walking, running, or skateboarding (I never skateboard around dogs though, as I understand how loud and scary they can be). I’m also just a really big fan of sunsets 🙂

Despite living in so many places over the years, a dog or two (or in some cases, 3) was always with my family and me! My mom was a dog trainer working at our local humane society, and we would often foster dogs of all kinds until they found a new home… or sometimes they found their new home with us 😉 As I got older, I became the go-to person for family, friends, and neighbors needing a dog entertainer or overnight guardian — a great and honorable job.

Now that I am in New York, I unfortunately live without a pup in my life. That said, I am so excited to be a part of the RuffCity team as I feel very lucky to be with your best friends and taking care of them, instead! I look forward to receiving the love that your dogs bring to your lives every day, and returning that love to them with safe and fun adventures around the city 🙂
