My name is Yvonne. I was born in Jamaica and moved to the U.S. at 20 on a student visa. After working as a nanny in Connecticut, I moved to New York City and earned a Bachelor’s in Chemistry from Pace University and a Master’s in Science Education from City College of New York. Though I enjoyed teaching and laboratory work, I discovered my true passion was caring for animals.

That realization came after a life-changing car accident and meeting my beloved yellow Lab mix, Yve. She healed me in ways I didn’t know were possible. For nearly 10 years, we were inseparable until cancer took her from me. Losing Yve left a deep void, but it also showed me that being with animals is what fulfills me most.

Since then, I’ve rescued dogs, provided pet-sitting and dog-walking services – mainly on the Upper West Side and around Central Park – and cared for animals as if they were my own. I love dogs most of all, but also have a soft spot for cats, horses, goats, and many others.

Caring for your pets will be an honor and a joy. I’ll treat them with the same love, patience, and devotion I gave to my own Yve – because I know how deeply they mean to you.  I am so excited to be a part of the RuffCity team and I can’t wait to meet you!
