My name is Daniel! I’m originally from Syracuse, NY, and I’ve been living in the city for a little over 3 years now. As a lover of nature, animals, and simple living, I had never really considered living in a big city. But when a friend reached out asking if I would be interested in taking a room in his Brooklyn apartment, I decided to give city life a chance — and I’m so glad I made that leap! I’ve made so many meaningful connections and had tons of fulfilling experiences that now I can’t imagine living anywhere else!

Outside of pups, I have two passions in life. One is music; I play saxophone and keys in several bands around the city. I also produce, compose and record for independent artists. I also just love listening to music, too – I get such a thrill when I discover a new artist I love! My other passion is animal welfare in general. I believe it is our duty as humans to show compassion and respect to the animals with whom we share the Earth! As such, I am always on the lookout for ways to reduce animal suffering and raise awareness.

Growing up, our house had multiple dogs with a wide range of personalities and special needs. I formed incredibly deep bonds with each and every one of them, and it always broke my heart when I had to leave them for school (and then later, when I moved out of the family home). While I cherish the brief spans I get to visit them at home, I still find myself missing that special connection you can only make with dogs while living in NYC. That’s why I’m so excited and grateful to be a part of the RuffCity team!
