Stacia, Co-Founder

RuffCity Uptown (45th Street to 96th Street)

Stacia grew up in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado and has been surrounded by dogs and horses her entire life.  In fact, her first jobs were blanketing horses at her stables and washing dogs at a local grooming shop.  She has called NYC home since 2006 and after a brief stint as an Interior Designer, she decided to pursue her true calling; working with animals.

As an adolescent growing up in Denver, Colorado, my mom used to joke that I had a knack for finding any dog that got loose in our neighborhood, but really I think they had a knack for finding me.  Dogs have always played such a precious and important role in my life, and at the age of 9, I finally got the best present ever – a Basset Hound named Oscar.  Since that I’ve time I’ve always had at least one dog in my life (and more typically, up to 3 dogs, between Bassets and English Bulldogs, with my family dogs included) and today my best partner in crime is a Basset Hound who (selectively) goes by the name of Wyatt.

I also spent as much time as I could at my local stables growing up; from riding, to turning out horses in the summer and to blanketing horses in the winter, if there was something to be done with horses, you could bet I was your girl.  This passion still continues today and I try to get out riding as often as I possibly can.

In 2010, I found myself recently graduated with a degree in Interior Design in a very unstable job market and decided to pursue my other passion full time, and that was loving on pups.  Heather and I set out to provide the best care for all of the pups in Manhattan singlehandedly and now we find ourselves in the great company of an amazing team that shares the same love and dreams.  We’re so excited to spend time with your pups, and with so many options in the city for your furry friend’s care, we thank you for giving us the opportunity to welcome you into the RuffCity family!
