My name is Kirby and I’m a dog crazy gal living in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn. I have been in the Big Apple by way of Chicago for about 2 1/2 years now pursuing a career as a musician. I am a singer/songwriter whose passion is writing 50’s doo wop music. When I’m not walking some awesome pups or working on music I enjoy dancing, exploring the cuisine in this great city, and snuggling with my adorable long haired chihuahua, Buddy.
I am a dog lover to the core and always have been–thus, I have quite a bit of experience with dogs both personally and professionally. In terms of my professional experience I was a dog walker/cat sitter for a large company in Brooklyn for over a year and I have also pet sit for many family friends’ pups since I was a teenager. I also worked at a pet store back in Chicago. My personal experience with dogs is also extensive as I have always had a family dog. Just last year I got a pooch of my own and he is the love of my life 🙂
I have lots of experience with rescue dogs and special needs dogs after my time as a dog walker in Brooklyn. I understand they require extra love, attention and patience and sometimes come to you with fears they acquired in their past that need to be accommodated. I will not hesitate to give a big hug to a rescue pup with a fear of bikers if we happen to cross paths with one on our walk. These fears don’t intimidate me–they are just a quirk of a pup that makes them even more lovable!
Dogs are our best friends and important members of the family. They are a source of unconditional and unwavering love (not to mention 24/7 aww-inducing and laughter inducing moments) and that is why as a part of the RuffCity team I promise to give your dog the love and attention that he or she deserves. I always strive to improve their training and behavior on walks to make your time with them more enjoyable. I am so happy to be a part of the RuffCity family where we pride ourselves on providing the best care your doggy can get! I can’t wait to meet your fur babies and get to know them–I promise they are in great hands
