My name is Karl-Eric Vertil, I am originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In 2010 I moved to Texas in the hope of becoming a veterinarian. As a child, I had many puppies; American Bulldogs, Great Danes, Pitbulls, and Chihuahuas just to name a few as well as other animals. Each dog I’ve had taught me unconditional love and loyal companionship. I still remember like it was yesterday volunteering at a local pet shop/grooming salon for the emotional fulfillment of being around dogs.
After three years of biology studies in College, I had the urge to explore the full range of my creative being. I moved to Austin for audio production at the Art Institute where I played drums for a reggae band. Although my career orientation changed, my love for animals, especially puppies grew stronger. I was given the Good Samaritan Award for obtaining over 150 hours at the Humane Society of Southeast Texas. I also shadowed a veterinary doctor, DVM Falgout, at the Beaumont West Animal Care.
Two years ago, I moved to New York to seek wholeness and restoration by becoming the yoga teacher I am today. I am in the final stages of completing my certification and look forward to taking notes of the perfect downward dog position as demonstrated by your pup 🙂
Dogs of all shapes and sizes support my happiness. I owe it to them to honor this truth with the genuine love, and care I promise to give. I know how to cultivate their trust to provide the ultimate fun, and safe experience every time. Too much time is never enough time to be spent in their company. I am a strong believer that anything can be my guru if I am aware. Dogs most definitely continue to teach me to live in the moment and practice gratitude for the small things in life.
Saying that I am overwhelmed with joy to be a part of the RuffCity team and to build a strong bond with your furry child in the near future is an understatement. I cannot wait to meet you both!
