My name is Elaine Furst and I put the LOVE in MUST LOVE DOGS! Growing up, all I wanted was a dog, but being a born and bred New Yorker and living in an apartment building that didn’t allow them, I was deprived of my biggest wish. When I finally moved out my own, however, (into an apartment building that allowed dogs, lol!), I was determined to make up for lost time. My very first dog was Libby, a German Shepard/Greyhound/Lab mix, whom I adopted at North Shore Animal League and whom I loved and nurtured from the age of six months until her passing at the age of eleven. Next, there was LC (short for Lamb Chop), a Bichon Poodle who I adopted from the ASPCA and whom I adored until she passed at the age of fourteen. Now there’s Lulu, a Jack Russell/Chihuahua whom I adopted from the ACC and who knows just how to “work” her big brown eyes!

Outside of my personal dog loving experience, I have dog sat for friends’ dogs pulling double duty watching them while taking care of my own dogs. I also had a temp position at the ASPCA in the public relations department where I spent many hours in the shelter and assisted in walking and caring for the shelter dogs waiting to be adopted. And I’m also quite familiar with administering medication as Libby and LC both required medications as they got older.

For most of adult life, I’ve worked in the media/entertainment industries. However, I have decided that life is too short to not be spending time doing what you love, so I’ve changed gears with my life to pursue what I really always wanted to do anyway…walk and play with doggies! I am so honored to be a part of the RuffCity team and I very much look forward to taking great care of your little (or big!) fur balls of LOVE!
