I’m Chris Munsey and I’ve been living in New York City for almost two years now and have loved every minute of it. After growing up in New Hampshire, and attending college in Rhode Island, I came to the city to pursue a career in law. My first job here was for an education non-profit in the Bronx and it unexpectedly changed the career path I was headed down. I’m hoping to start a Master’s of Education soon so that I can continue working in New York City schools to make the best impact I can.
Volunteering and non-profit work have always been important to me. During college I was lucky enough to live on campus in the summer and volunteered with the Newport Rhode Island Animal Shelter. I spent day after day walking and looking after these dogs until someone came to adopt and give them a lifelong home.
One of the biggest adjustments I ran into after moving was not having my dog around. I missed coming home every day to a happy face and wagging tail. I’ve had two dogs myself. When I was younger I had shih tzu named Molly, and after her came Phoebe. She’s half shih tzu and half poodle, a mix you don’t see too often.
I know how much you love your dog because I’ve felt that same love for my pets over the years. Dogs have a lot of love to give and I truly believe that they are man’s best friend. I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the RuffCity team and a form a lasting relationship with you and your dog.
